Founded by visionary entrepreneur Tekchand Arora , Variety Book Depot began as a modest shop amid the bustling pre-Partition era. The tumult of 1947 brought the Arora family to Delhi, where they resiliently started with a humble stall on what is now Baba Kharak Singh Marg. By the mid-1960s, we had carved out our permanent home in the iconic Connaught Place, transforming into one of India's premier book wholesalers and distributors.
Today, under the stewardship of Om Arora—who joined the family fold in 1966 we continue Tekchand's legacy. What started as a love for stories has grown into a vast network supporting almost all bookstores nationwide.
